A good plan needs a good tool too. SQL databases are the standard for structured data when data integrity is absolutely important. Emerging technology like machine learning or the Internet of Things (IoT) find the speed, scalability, and fluid requirements of NoSQL databases are a better fit. As this ensures that there are no bottlenecks even when retaining & accessing huge amounts of data. Web analytics, social networks and some other types of databases also work much better within the NoSQL framework.
Documentation is Everything
We know that documentation is as essential as primary keys. So, no matter how annoying it may seem, our team always prepare the documentation of everything we are designing & developing. We make sure to document the design, entity-relationship schemas, and triggers making it easy to follow for all the future users.
Plan for Increasing Backup Time in the Build
Planning for a failover clustering is as important as planning the design. So, we plan for failover clustering, auto backups, replication and any other procedures necessary to ensure that the database structure remains intact even in times of unexpected failure. We believe in the saying: “Prepare and prevent, don’t repair and repent.”
Keeping Privacy as the Primary Focus
The GDPR signals an era of increasing privacy concerns. We always encrypt passwords and doesn’t assign an administrator without privacy training and well-documented qualifications. We maintain our database as secured as possible making the data privacy as our main focus. We know that vulnerabilities impact data integrity, which impacts everything else in the enterprise, which will never be the case with RIG.
Optimizing for Speed
Creating indexes for queries that will be used regularly can optimize the speed. We use a database analyzer to determine if an index or a clustered index is necessary based on the requirements. Incorporating tools like Elastic search also speed up the searches.
